About The Event
"Intelligence plus character - that is the goal of true education." - Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
This annual competition is held to honor Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., a Brother of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. and the legacy he left. Contestants present a 7 minute speech in a competition to win a scholarship prize. In addition, we may give away prizes to audience members.
The Oratorical Contest is a free, open event for all to enjoy. There is no dress requirement for this event.
